Winner of the 2016 Vanderbilt University Concerto Competition & 2016 James Miltenberger International Jazz Piano Competition, California native David Rodgers is a graduate of Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music where he majored in Piano Performance major with a concentration in jazz studies while studying with Amy Dorfman, Bruce Dudley, Ryan Middagh, and Jeff Coffin.

He is currently an active member of Keb’ Mo & Taj Mahal’s touring band as the keyboardist and assistant musical director. His compositions have been performed and recorded internationally, most recently in Canada where he was invited as a guest artist to the Banff Centre’s International Workshop in Jazz & Creative Music. As a performer, he was invited to the University Jazz Festival in Medellín, Colombia this past summer where he toured the country with the Blair Jazz Quartet. He was also a finalist for ROLI’s first-ever International Next Awards for which he was invited to London to perform as a soloist this past September. He has worked with Menahem Pressler, Arnaldo Cohen, Gilbert Kalish, and Alice Schoenfeld as well as Vijay Iyer, Dave Liebman, Aaron Goldberg, & Arturo O’Farrill among many others.
